Art Journal:
19th DEC 2010 art journal page:
I prepared the pages first with collage from recycle paper and then made the background with yellow, yellow orche and black for some rusty effect. And finally scribble on it..

I like the overall layout with this tone.
Something for rememberance:
Our 7th Anniversary: 22nd DEC 2010 art journal page
He loves blue..I like blue and many other colours as well (except for floor and wall tiles :-)..Prepared the pages with light blue bakground and then made a circle with cobalt blue (less soluble) to get this effect..and applied yellow directly on the pages..
Paste same paper cutting from waste pape from the office

Add one big tree that symbolise shelter and place to hang on too..

Hatching and art journal:
Some recent work..I've been sketching a lot nowadays with 2B pencil and Artline 0.4 and 0.6..I like black and white sketches because hatching techniques can be highlighted

My subject is always old trees and boulders in a mysterious setting..
My art journal entry, inspired by my trip to Bellamy to hunt for ikan bakar, blame it on Garmin, we end up driving thru Chinese cemetery all the way.... :-P
Material: mixed media collage - recycle paper, pencil and sketch pen

Malaysia's Art Tourism Trail
Its a good effort and support of having this kind of promotion for Malaysian art scene, I remember when I was still in secondary school back in the 80's every week Utusan Malaysia will featured local painter in Pancaindera..that was the only printed media (that i remember)gave a space for local artist like Syed Ahmad Jamal, Eng Tay (loves his figura painting with musical intruments), Amron and some budding painter who just retired from teaching profession.
I would like to share this pamphlet by Ministry of Tourism Malaysia
'Contemporary art is a passion that unites discerning travellers and tourist alike from all corners of the world...' Dato' Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen
There are list of exhibition throughout the years and list of art galleries and date of first ever Art Auction in Malaysia..I imagined Sotheby's Art Auction in my mind...:-))
Message from the Minister and on the right is an art piece from Jalaini Abu Hassan - title: Mangkuk ; medium: Mixed media on canvas

and this is Fatamorgana by Ahmad Fuad Osman; medium : oil on canvas...oh I really loves oil painting, the smell of the paint, the way the brush dance on the canvas...surreal.....

I think this is called 'Road God'..acrylic on canvas
Big piece expressing anger and hope on current issue..also an acrylic painting on canvas

If only...
If only I have a chance..I would just leave my current ground, ..ground with too many politics, constraint and headache...I would love to just paint and paint..travel and paint again...no exam to sit, no superior to report to, no office politics to faced ....but its all about timing and the right option at the moment...one fine day I have to sit down and think carefully of this option....
The great Mexican artist Frida Kahlo said, "The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to..." Van Gogh put it this way, "The only time I feel alive is when I'm painting." To Russian painter Marc Chagall, art was a means to a higher end. "My hands were too soft..." he explained, "I had to find some special occupation, some kind of work that would not force me to turn away from the sky and the stars, that would allow me to discover the meaning of life."
this is the canvas of life.....
